User Fees

Currently, the District does not levy a mill, so revenues are raised primary through user fees.  User fees are wastewater treatment charges assessed commercial and residential customers.  Commercial customers are billed quarterly at a rate per thousand gallons of water used, while  residential users are charged the same rate applied to a class average.  Residential user fees are an annual assessment but billed quarterly to make the payments easier for our customers.  Rates are set during our fall/ winter budget process.

Residential Charges

There are currently three classes of residential customers.  Single family dwelling (SFD) is an individual home on a single parcel of land.  Multi-family dwellings are multiple units on single or multiple parcels of land.  There are two types of multi-family dwellings.  The MFDA class refers to full size units such as condominiums, townhomes etc.  MFDB refers to smaller units such as apartments, cottage camp units etc.  The actual distinction though is based on the number of water using fixture units in the dwelling.  MFDB units usually have a single bath.  This classification was set up to enable lower income housing in the district.

  • Single Family Dwelling (SFD) $316 annual/ $79.00 quarterly
  • Multi-Family Dwelling A (MFDA) $316 annual/ $79.00 quarterly
  • Multi-Family Dwelling B (MFDB) $210 annual/ $52.50 quarterly

Commercial Charges

Commercial customers will be billed a rate of $5.96 per thousand gallons of water used.  Water meter readings are used in determining quarterly bills.

Food service establishments are required to install external fats, oils and grease interceptors.  Existing food service establishments that have not complied with this requirement are charged a non-compliant fee equal to their user fee, not to exceed $750 per quarter.  This option is not available to new food service establishments.

Lift Station Charges

A lift station charge is applied to customers whose subdivisions installed pressure systems to enable service and then deeded those facilities to the District for ownership and operation.  The current fee of $15 per quarter is used to maintain those facilities to health department standards.  The fee is applied to residential and commercial customers.
